This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery tasks. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip itself or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform that operation. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
