This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we ship from a large inventory, the PCB you receive may look slightly different than the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Many hard drive circuit boards store unique information in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
