This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB, logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. The PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. To confirm a replacement board will resolve your issue, follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its stored data must be transferred to the replacement board. If transfer of the chip is possible, a local computer technician should be able to perform the procedure. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
