This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of these boards, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for use in data recovery or HDD repair work. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement board will address your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM content is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer, a local computer technician can usually move the chip for you. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
