This listing includes the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is provided. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Important: most WD PCBs store unique information in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for correct drive operation. That ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can typically move the chip.
