This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included! Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Purpose: This replacement PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will address your drive’s problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide. Important ROM information: Most WD PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for correct drive operation. That ROM chip, or the data on it, must be moved to or programmed onto the replacement board for the drive to function properly. If you can physically transfer the chip, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant.
