This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact PCB delivered may vary slightly from the photo. The board is intended for data recovery and hard drive repair use. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is essential for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be transplanted, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide complimentary adaptation service, which includes either relocating the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
