Item is a hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for HDD repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB replacement will address your problem by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many drive circuit boards contain critical, unique data on a ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer repair professional should be able to perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include complimentary adaptation service, which covers either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
