Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — drive is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the picture. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. To confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your problem, please follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
