This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. We maintain a large inventory, so the PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These circuit boards are supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, use our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide to confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique drive parameters in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
