This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap is the correct remedy by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip, and that ROM data is required for the drive to operate properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board; if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
