This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before buying, verify whether a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store critical, drive-specific information in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician typically can perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — we will either transfer the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
