Sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive is NOT included. Because we stock large quantities, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for repair and data-recovery purposes. Before ordering, confirm compatibility by consulting our Donor Matching Guide and run diagnostics using our hard drive diagnostics guide to ensure a replacement PCB will resolve your issue. Most drive PCBs store unique firmware/data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we include complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
