This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Actual boards shipped may differ slightly from the photo due to large inventory. Intended use: hard drive repair or data recovery. Important: most WD PCBs include a unique ROM memory chip that stores drive-specific data required for proper operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If moving the chip is an option, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement with the correct ROM data.
