Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. We maintain a large inventory, so the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery operations. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Many drive PCBs store essential calibration and configuration in the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If physical transfer of the ROM chip is feasible, a local computer technician can usually perform the procedure. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
