This listing is for the hard drive PCB/logic board only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. We have a large inventory of PCBs, so the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for HDD repair or data recovery projects. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement board will address your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and check compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive circuit boards store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If you cannot perform this operation yourself, a local computer technician can usually transplant the chip. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either physically moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
