This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the actual PCB shipped may vary slightly from the pictured unit. Designed for data recovery and HDD repair work. Before purchasing, confirm a replacement PCB will address your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs store drive-specific information in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board or the new PCB must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If the ROM can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide complimentary adaptation service, which covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
