Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photos. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery projects. Before purchasing, verify that replacing the PCB will address your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most HDD PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM (“memory”) chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If physical chip transfer is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the swap. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
