Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive, enclosure, or platters are included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is supplied for use in hard drive repair or data recovery situations. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap is appropriate by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs contain a unique ROM (memory) chip with required calibration/data; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board for the drive to function correctly. If you cannot transfer the chip yourself, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new board or reprogramming the replacement PCB with the correct ROM data.
