This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide and check compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most replacement PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the work. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
