This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ in appearance from the photos. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before purchasing, confirm that swapping the PCB will address your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
