This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the board will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique drive parameters in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. You must transfer the ROM chip or its data to the replacement board. If you cannot perform this yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
