This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery situations. Before ordering, verify that a replacement PCB will solve your issue by following our hard drive Diagnostics Guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip (or its contents) must be migrated to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip for you. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
