This sale is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We stock large quantities, so the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: hard drive repair or data recovery. Before buying, confirm a PCB swap will solve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly. That ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board — either by physically moving the ROM chip or by reprogramming the new PCB. If you cannot perform this yourself, a qualified local technician can usually transplant the chip. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transferring the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
