Product is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of replacement PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery operations. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs include unique configuration data stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM chip or its data must be migrated to the replacement board. If you are unable to perform the ROM transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually complete the procedure. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
