This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock large quantities, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This part is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Many WD PCBs store crucial, unique information on the ROM memory chip; that ROM data must be present on the replacement board for the drive to function properly. If possible, the ROM chip can be physically transferred to the new board — a local computer technician can usually perform this. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogram the new board with the correct ROM data.
