Item is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, follow our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm that replacing the PCB is likely to resolve your issue. Also review the Donor Matching Guide to ensure compatibility with your drive. Many PCBs contain a ROM "memory" chip that holds unique, mandatory data required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either relocating the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
