This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we have a large stock, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. Important: many WD PCBs contain unique data stored in the ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly. That ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). To confirm whether a PCB swap will resolve your issue, follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can often move the chip; we also provide assistance — purchases of $60 or more qualify for complimentary adaptation service, which includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement with the correct ROM data.
