Due to a large stock of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Important: many WD PCBs store unique calibration and firmware data in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement PCB, or the replacement board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If transfer is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the chip transplant.
