This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) alone — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the specific board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery projects. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store essential, unique information on a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
