Product is the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the physical hard drive is NOT included. Because we keep a large inventory, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement board will address your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many drive PCBs store unique information in a ROM "memory" chip; this data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
