Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data-recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your drive problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many drive circuit boards contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for correct operation; that ROM or its data must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If moving the ROM chip is feasible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers with orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
