This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in data recovery or hard drive repair. Before purchasing, confirm compatibility by consulting our Donor Matching Guide and follow the hard drive diagnostics guide to ensure a replacement PCB will resolve your problem. Many WD PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If you prefer a professional to perform the transfer, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
