This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no hard drive is included. Because we keep a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before buying, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique information in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If relocation of the chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
