This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Boards are intended for use in data recovery or hard drive repair work. Because we keep a large inventory, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Before purchasing, confirm compatibility by following our Donor Matching Guide and run our hard drive diagnostics guide to determine whether a replacement PCB will resolve your issue. Most WD PCBs contain a unique ROM "memory" chip or stored data that is required for correct drive operation; that ROM or its contents must be transferred or written to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant; alternatively, we provide services to handle this. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either relocating the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
