This sale is for the hard drive PCB (logic board / PCB) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. To confirm a replacement PCB will remedy your drive, please run the steps in our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique configuration data on a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for correct operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If the ROM chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
