Sale is for a hard drive PCB (printed circuit board / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. We stock a large quantity of boards, so the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This circuit board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will address your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide and checking compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most HDD circuit boards contain unique configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to, or programmed into, the replacement board. If you cannot move the chip yourself, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. Orders of $60 or more qualify for complimentary adaptation service, which covers either relocating the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
