This sale is for the hard drive circuit board only (PCB / logic board). No hard drive is included. Because we have a large stock of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or HDD repair. Before purchasing, verify that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD circuit boards store unique drive-specific data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip itself or its contents must be moved to the replacement board or reprogrammed onto it. If you are not comfortable doing this, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or programming the correct ROM data.
