This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may look slightly different from the photo. The PCB is intended for use in data recovery or hard drive repair projects. Most hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data on a ROM “memory” chip; that data is required for the drive to function properly. Either the ROM chip itself or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer, a local computer technician can usually relocate the chip. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
