This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for data recovery and HDD repair, this replacement PCB is intended to be used as a donor part to restore drive functionality. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will address your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide. Verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide — matching the donor board is critical for success. Most WD PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be removed and transplanted, a local computer technician can usually perform the procedure. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transfer the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
