Listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We keep a large inventory of PCBs, so the actual board shipped may vary slightly from the photo. This PCB is sold for hard drive repair and data recovery purposes. Prior to purchase, confirm a PCB swap will address your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD circuit boards contain unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM or its data must be transferred to the replacement board for the drive to operate properly. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service which includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
