This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs store unique information in the ROM “memory” chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the replacement board or reprogrammed onto it. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually handle the chip transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or programs the correct ROM data onto the replacement board.
