This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before ordering, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the replacement board or the replacement board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If the ROM can be physically transferred, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For customers with a purchase of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the proper ROM data.
