This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before ordering, verify compatibility by consulting our Donor Matching Guide and run the hard drive diagnostics guide to determine whether a replacement PCB is the correct remedy. Many hard drive PCBs hold unique configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
