This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip (or its data) must be transferred to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM contents. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
