This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is sold for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by consulting our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store essential drive-specific data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM content is required for proper operation. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer, a local computer technician should be able to move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the board with the correct ROM data.
