This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock large quantities, the exact PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. These boards are intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery scenarios. To confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your problem, please run the steps in our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs hold unique information in a ROM memory chip that is required for correct drive operation; that ROM or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. Customers with orders of $60 or more qualify for our complimentary adaptation service, which includes either relocating the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
