This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These circuit boards are intended for HDD repair and data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your problem by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs store unique drive-specific data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that data is required for correct drive operation and must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant; alternatively, for purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
