Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we keep large quantities of PCBs in stock, the specific board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in HDD repair or data recovery processes. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will solve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board for the drive to operate correctly. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
