This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. We hold a large inventory of these PCBs, so the exact board you receive may look slightly different from the photograph. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to work correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board — if possible, a local computer technician can perform the chip transplant. For customers who spend $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
